AI-generated images of Mexican cartel leader Nemesio Oseguera, known as “El Mencho”, with model Maria Julissa were used to suggest that she betrayed the drug lord, leading to his death in a military raid, but she described posts linking them as “false and unfounded.”
Oseguera, 59, was killed on February 22, and Mexico’s Defense Minister Ricardo Trevilla said information from a confidante of one of Oseguera’s romantic partners helped officials plan the raid.
